Broken Drum Creative Offers Drum Circles For Community Functions, Schools and Seniors homes.
Please note all drum circles have Indigenous History Teachings and a mixture of Indigenous and non-Indigenous songs.
There are always factors to consider on how large or small each circle should be such as space and age of participants.
Seniors homes: Do to space, hearing abilities, cognitive function and assistance needed to set clients/patients up into a space, smaller groups to about 20 to 30 are reasonable numbers. 45 -60 Minute Sessions are reasonable.
It is Important that staff participate if possible as drumming is healing and unifying for pts/clients and staff.
Schools: Teachers know the capabilities of their students to listen and attention span. Older classes may be able to have 1 to 3 grades in one circles for 45-60 minutes where as younger classes may only be able to have half a class or a whole class that the teacher can manage for 30-45 minutes. Kids love the drumming and percussion and usually are pretty tentative.
It is important that teachers be present during circles.

What is a Drum Circle?
A drumming circle consists of a group of people who sit in a circle and drum and in some cases use percussion instruments of all sorts. It can be a small or large group, in doors or out doors. Drumming can be enlightening, fun, a stress release, unifying and healing. For some, drumming is a private spiritual experience. For others, it is ceremony or community. Drumming is meditative for some and can help with gaining clarity. The vibrations can help move lymph through out your body that will help with detoxification. There is no experience necessary to join a drum circle.
